K-2 STEAM Start!

Build foundations for a lifetime of data driven problem solving. Introduce scientific methods and the engineering design process while developing numeracy, place value, literacy, and measurement. Participants take away a STEAM unit plus STEAM planning materials for use with their current curriculum options. Any investigation can become STEAM with a few small changes!

Driving STEM for Grades 3-5

Students have increased scores and developed deeper understanding of data driven decision-making in the context of physical science with “Driving STEM.” The workshop introduces physical science as a springboard for project based learning. Educators transfer knowledge directly back to the classroom with resource materials included in the workshop.

MindBugs for Upper Elementary Educators

The MindBugs are misconceptions in student thinking. Like a virus, MindBugs can spread through a student’s number and conceptual systems. Avoid and debunk misconceptions through active, engaged learning and through reinforcing connections.  In these subject-focused sessions, educators follow the 5-E’s model to engage, explore and practice explaining connections in scientific and mathematical concepts.
